The Learning Resources Center (LRC) is open to all currently enrolled El Camino College Compton Center students. The LRC includes the Open Lab and the LRC Tutorial Program.
The LRC houses an extensive media collection to supplement instruction in many disciplines. The LRC and other open computer labs (Math and Science and Vocational/Technology) provide individualized computer-assisted instruction in reading and math. The LRC Tutorial Program offers free drop-in tutoring covering more than 40 subjects.
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) and the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Lab are dedicated to supporting student success.
Learning Resource Center services include tutoring in a variety of subjects, access to telecourses, math videotapes for overnight check-out, study skills seminars, independent studying via computer, and access to computers for Windows applications or the Internet.
Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Lab (G-32 & G-33)
The CAI Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art computers and a new PLATO software package specifically designed for adult learners.
PLATO package covers math applications from basic math to pre-calculus, as well as English skills from basic vocabulary to college writing. It also includes a component for GED-preparation and basic consumer/life skills.
Hours of operation:
Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - Noon
